General platform guidance. Menu names vary by device.

Check the TV operating system

Find the operating system and version in the TV’s settings or manufacturer documentation. Android TV and Google TV devices use an Android environment, but other TV platforms can use different app formats. An APK is not a native Samsung Tizen or LG webOS package.

What to verify before installing

  • Android version and processor compatibility from the actual APK release.
  • Enough free storage for the installer, installed app and temporary data.
  • A suitable file-transfer or download method supported by the device.
  • Whether the app can be navigated using a remote; phone installation alone does not establish TV support.

General installation workflow

  1. Identify a trusted source

Confirm the source and release record before downloading or transferring anything to the television.

  2. Use a supported transfer method

Your device may support a browser, file manager or removable drive. Use the device manufacturer’s instructions rather than copying a menu path from a different TV.

  3. Review installation prompts

If the device permits APK installation, grant only the necessary installation permission. Stop if a security warning or compatibility failure appears.

  4. Check remote behavior

After a successful install, test focus movement, selection, Back and any player controls. Do not assume a phone interface is usable with a remote.

If your TV does not run Android

Use apps supported by the TV platform. A compatible external Android TV device is a different device choice, not a way to convert an APK into another platform’s app format. We do not guarantee this Sportzfy release works on an external device.

If installation or playback fails

Check installation errors before changing files. For pauses after successful installation, use the playback checklist. Fire TV has separate platform considerations in the Fire TV guide.
